Job Introduction:
We are now recruiting experienced HGV Class I Drivers to join our growing Transport Team at our Regional Distribution Centre in Amesbury, Wiltshire. Applicants will be competent and reliable drivers who will deliver to our network of Home Bargains stores serviced by the distribution centre. Experience of multi-drop and unloading/loading of roll cages would be an advantage, but not essential as full training is provided. As this recruitment campaign is to increase the number of drivers, drivers currently working onsite through a contractor or agency will not be considered at this time.
Job Overview:
- Drive vehicles with due care and attention and a respect for traffic law, Company policy and procedure
- Fully comply with driver hours and regulations
- Ensure vehicles are maintained to a high standard in line with health and safety, legal requirements and Company process
- Carefully load and unload cages at store with regard to personal safety as instructed in the Company health and safety manual
- Carry out regular and thorough vehicle checks
- Responsible to ensure that deliveries are made on time and at the right place, ensuring all paperwork is completed accurately
Requirements:
- Valid C+E Driving Licence
- Current and fully completed Driver Certificate of Professional Competence card (DCPC) is essential
- Minimum 25 years of age with a minimum of 12 months’ experience in a C+E role for insurance purposes
- Understanding and working knowledge of WTR; EU driver hours and working time rules
- Task oriented approach
- Health and safety awareness
- Pass internal driver assessment
