To provide a high quality and efficient support function to service and maintain a range of customer lifts including passenger lifts, goods lifts and service lifts. The activities detailed in this document are not exhaustive and employees may be required to undertake other duties at the request of the management team and in line with the company requirements.

MAIN DUTIES

  • Complete maintenance visits, call-outs and minor repairs on all types of vertical & incline lifts.
  • Identify and report any reliability or safety issues including issues raised by customers.
  • Provide clear & concise details for the Sales Department.
  • Proactively identify possible solutions to problems.
  • Manage your own workload in an efficient and cost effective manner with minimum supervision.
  • Ensure that work is in accordance with relevant standards and statutory regulations.
  • Complete all relevant documentation accurately and timely, in keeping with standard operating procedures.
  • Work at client sites throughout your designated area, but also assist engineers in other areas as required.
  • Participate in the company’s 24/7 on call rota system.

Job Knowledge and Technical skills

  • Competent in Electrical, Hydraulic and Mechanical Engineering.
  • NVQ level 3 or equivalent in Engineering Maintenance.
  • Previous field service experience on a variety of lifts from different manufacturers and ages.
  • Ability to diagnose faults and carry out necessary repairs.
  • Ability to rectify problems as they become apparent.
  • Ability to understand and interpret electrical & technical drawings.
  • Knowledge of Lift standards and Codes of Practice.
  • A good understanding of Health and Safety.

Administration

  • Follow procedures and routines.
  • Ability to learn new systems.
  • Detailed knowledge of processes, standards, policies and procedures relevant to own role.
  • Be organised and methodical.
  • Communicate electronically with the office via email and engineer portal.
  • Exhibit excellent verbal communication of technical and non-technical data.
  • Prepare and structure communication to people and the environment.
