About the Role:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Freight Procurement Analyst to join our logistics brokerage team. This role is critical in supporting our response to customer RFPs and ensuring competitive, accurate pricing across a variety of freight types including dry van, reefer, flatbed, and oversized loads. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of fuel surcharge schedules and 2–3 years of hands-on experience in freight pricing.
Key Accountabilities:
- Analyze and respond to customer Request for Proposals (RFPs) with strategic pricing solutions.
- Develop and maintain pricing.
- Interpret and apply fuel surcharge schedules and other accessorial charges.
- Effectively collaborate with sales, operations, and carrier relations teams to ensure pricing aligns with market conditions and service capabilities.
- Monitor industry trends, lane data, and carrier rates to optimize pricing strategies.
- Maintain and update internal pricing databases and tools.
Position Requirements:
- Tech savvy with the use of a computer with the ability to regularly adapt to new and changing software.
- 2–3 years of industry experience.
- Strong knowledge of North American freight markets.
- Familiarity with fuel surcharge schedules and transportation cost structures.
- Proficiency in Excel and data analysis tools; experience with TMS or pricing software is a plus.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally.
- Ability to manage multiple RFPs and deadlines simultaneously.
- Post secondary education in a related field is an asset.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience working with carrier networks and understanding rate negotiations.
- Knowledge of transportation regulations and compliance standards.
- Exposure to LTL and intermodal pricing is an asset.
