Location: Near St Austell, Cornwall
Pay Rate: £30,000 - £35,000 per year
Days: 4 days per week
Start Time / Shift Pattern: 45 hours per week
The Role
- Supporting the Head Chef in the day-to-day running of a busy, fresh food kitchen
- Leading kitchen operations across all sections, including pastry where required
- Preparing and delivering high-quality dishes using fresh, seasonal, and locally sourced ingredients
- Maintaining exceptional standards of food quality, presentation, and consistency
- Running the kitchen confidently in the Head Chef’s absence
- Managing stock control, ordering, and minimising waste
- Supporting, training, and motivating junior team members
- Ensuring all food hygiene, safety, and compliance standards are met
Requirements
- Previous experience as a Sous Chef or strong Senior Chef ready to step up
- Background in fresh food, hotel, or high-quality restaurant environments
- Confident across multiple sections (pastry experience beneficial)
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Passionate about food, creativity, and seasonal produce
- Highly organised with excellent attention to detail
- Good understanding of cost control and kitchen efficiency
- Reliable, professional, and team-focused
