Enriching education & realising potential across Birmingham. Titan Partnership is looking for an inspiring, strategic and values‑driven leader to guide us into an exciting new chapter. Rooted in North and West Birmingham, Titan is a long‑standing, place‑based education charity bringing schools, employers, universities and civic partners together to improve life chances for children and young people. For more than two decades, we have championed collaboration, strengthened the local education workforce, and expanded opportunities for young people in our communities. As we enter a new phase guided by our 2026–2029 Strategy, we are ready to deepen our impact — and we are seeking a CEO who can lead with clarity, ambition, and heart.

This is a great opportunity to shape change in one of the most diverse and dynamic parts of the country. You’ll work closely with schools, funders, employers and civic leaders to strengthen our membership offer with schools and colleges, grow our high‑quality Initial Teacher Training and workforce development offer and drive forward programmes that support educators and young people to build skills and opportunities that help them realise their potential.

You’ll be joining a respected charity with:

  • A clear, ambitious strategy and strong community roots
  • A trusted reputation and committed network of schools and partners
  • A Board focused on investment, renewal and long‑term sustainability
  • A small, dedicated team delivering high‑quality programmes and support

We are open to appointing between 3 and 5 days per week, depending on the successful candidate’s circumstances. Salary: £70,000 (pro rata) plus 5% employer pension contribution and 32 days leave (pro rata).

If you are a collaborative, strategic and people‑centred leader who believes in the power of partnership to transform outcomes for young people, we would be delighted to hear from you.

This is a wide ranging role, offering the opportunity to use your very best relational, operational, financial and visionary skills to power Titan forward and ensure excellence and impact across all we do.

1. Strategic Leadership & Vision

Lead Titan Partnership with clarity, ambition, and compassion, ensuring the charity delivers on its mission to improve life chances for young people across Birmingham. Shape and deliver the strategic plan that reflects the needs of Titan’s diverse membership and the wider education and opportunities ecosystem. Maintain a strong understanding of local and national education policy, skills and employability agendas, and the challenges facing inner-city schools. Identify opportunities for innovation, partnership, and growth - ensuring Titan remains agile, relevant, and impactful. Provide high-quality advice and insight to the Board of Trustees, supporting effective governance and strategic decision-making.

2. Relational Leadership & Membership Engagement

Build and sustain strong, trusting relationships with Titan’s member schools, colleges, universities, training providers and wider stakeholders and funders. Act as a connector, facilitator, and champion - ensuring members feel heard, valued, and supported. Convene leaders across the network to share best practice, collaborate on challenges, and co-design solutions. Represent Titan at local, regional, and national forums, raising the organisation’s profile and influence. Ensure Titan’s programmes, events, and services remain responsive to member needs and aligned with the charity’s values of inclusion, diversity, and aspiration.

3. External Partnerships, Fundraising & Income Generation

Develop and maintain strong relationships with funders, employers, local authorities, universities, and community partners. Act as Titan’s lead ambassador - communicating the charity’s impact with authenticity and confidence. Secure diverse income streams, including grants, contracts, corporate partnerships, and traded services. Oversee the development of compelling funding bids, proposals, and impact reports. Ensure Titan remains financially sustainable, with robust planning, forecasting, and risk management.

4. Programme Impact & Educational Outcomes

Oversee the design and delivery of high-quality programmes and delivery that enrich education, raise aspirations, and support skills and employability. Ensure Titan’s work reflects the lived experience of young people in North Birmingham and addresses inequalities in opportunity and attainment. Champion evidence-based practice, evaluation, and continuous improvement. Promote inclusion, diversity, and social justice across all aspects of Titan’s work.

5. Organisational Leadership & Culture

Lead, motivate, and develop a small, committed team - fostering a culture of collaboration, learning, and wellbeing. Ensure operational excellence across finance, HR, safeguarding, compliance, and governance. Model Titan’s values in all interactions: integrity, inclusion, ambition, and partnership. Promote a positive, supportive, and high-performing organisational culture.

6. Governance & Compliance

Work closely with the Chair and Board to ensure strong governance and regulatory compliance. Provide timely, accurate reporting on performance, risk, finance, and impact. Ensure Titan meets all statutory requirements, including Charity Commission obligations and safeguarding standards. Support the Board’s development, including recruitment, induction, and succession planning.
