Titan are currently working with a very successful Freight Forwarder based in North Lanarkshire who are looking for a Warehouse Team Leader to join their team. The main purpose of the role is to oversee daily warehouse operations, ensuring that goods are received, stored, and dispatched efficiently and safely, while leading and motivating the team to meet performance, quality, and safety standards.
Role responsibilities:
- Oversee Freight Handling - Supervise the loading, unloading, sorting, and storage of freight in compliance with safety and quality standards.
- Inventory Management - Monitor stock levels, conduct regular inventory checks, and ensure accurate record-keeping.
- Shipment Coordination - Ensure timely dispatch and receipt of goods; verify shipping documentation and customs compliance (especially in international freight).
- Equipment Oversight - Ensure proper use and maintenance of handling equipment like forklifts, pallet jacks, scanners, etc.
- Staff Supervision - Lead, train, and support a team of warehouse operatives; manage shift rotas, break schedules, and attendance.
- Performance Monitoring - Track team productivity, identify areas for improvement, and provide feedback or coaching as needed.
Requirements:
- Previous experience of working in a distribution / freight warehouse is essential.
- Forklift licence is preferred.
