Air Products is a world leading industrial gas company providing all sorts of gases used in daily life. The Energy transition and Sustainability are key elements of our strategy. We manage projects in carbon capture and operate the world’s largest gasification projects. We invest in the production and distribution of green- and blue hydrogen and are developing a Hydrogen for mobility infrastructure by building and operating Hydrogen fuel stations.

As we continue to grow, we have a new opportunity available for an Installation and Maintenance Technician to be part of the Industrial Gases Operations organisation which provides maintenance services to Customer Sites and Operations Production facilities in the UK&I. These services are primarily focused on practical work at the various Customer Engineering Sites and Operations Production facilities. Service Engineers are responsible for troubleshooting, repair, preventive maintenance, installation and some design of control and instrumentation systems. They will also support Installation activities for Customer Engineer Projects and commissioning activities for Installs. Commissioning activities may be in support of both Sale of Gas and Sale of Equipment contracts.

Responsibilities include:

  • Ensuring Safe Operation and Legal Compliance of the sites.
  • Ensuring All Legal Inspections are carried out before the Due Date, using SAP as the planning tool.
  • Respond to Unplanned Maintenance in a timely manner.
  • Maintain documentation both written and electronic.
  • Process plant instrumentation of various types (e.g. pressure, temperature, flow, level, measurement, Gas detection).
  • Shutdown systems.
  • Controls systems such as PLC.
  • Control and switching valves of various types.
  • Pneumatic Control Systems.

You will need:

  • Proven experience in a customer facing role.
  • Previous Experience operating in a Service / Installation field role.
  • Qualified to work on Field Instrumentation in Flammable Atmospheres - COMPEX Approved.
  • Qualified to carry out Electrical Inspection and Test on electrical systems.
  • Working knowledge of PLC controlled systems, including fault finding and remote integration.
  • Knowledge of working in Industrial Gas / Oil Industry environment.
  • Experience on working on Pressurised Systems in compliance with PSSR 2000 legislation.
  • Has served a recognised Instrument Electrical apprenticeship.
  • HNC or NVQ equivalent in Electrical Electronic Engineering.
  • Valid Full driver’s licence.
