As we continue to grow, we are looking for an Electrical Plant Technician. You will work at the Didcot Production Plant as well as various satellite plants located on our customer sites around the plant location. This role will report directly to the Plant Manager and will be crucial to ensuring the safe, legal, reliable, and efficient operation and maintenance of the production plant and associated satellite plants.

As our Electrical Plant Technician you will:

  • Ensure all work is carried out following our EHS procedures including safety work permit issuing.
  • Ensure compliance with preventative maintenance requirements for Facility & Satellites.
  • Resolve trade specific & process related issues and breakdowns on site & at satellites.
  • Meet production requirements through operating the process equipment.
  • Ensure all work is within compliance to external standards ISO14001, ISO9001, ISO13485, ISO45001, GMP/GDP, FSSC22000.
  • Be responsible for the training of apprentices and new supervisors.
  • Operate the plant and conduct local plant shut down and startup of the site and satellites when required.
  • Work as part of the operating team alongside the Operating Service Centre to ensure safe, efficient and reliable execution of all aspects of plant operation.
  • Primarily be responsible for all aspects of safety, health, quality and environmental compliance, site security, and electrical maintenance.
  • Primarily responsible for the planning and execution of routine maintenance as designated by SAP and non-routine maintenance as and when required at the production facility and the satellite plants, with particular focus on the electrical maintenance tasks.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum Level 3 external qualification in Engineering or completion of recognised apprenticeship or proven skills in this area (electrical).
  • Level 4/5 Engineering qualification preferred.
  • Valid driver’s licence.
  • Knowledge of the process and equipment operations would be preferred; however, an ability to learn the process is needed (e.g. HYCO, ASU, HPN, VSA, Helium PG, Pipelines, including individual electrical equipment operation).
  • Strong communication skills across cross-functional teams.
  • Extensive knowledge of the process and equipment operations they are responsible for (e.g. HYCO, ASU, HPN, VSA, Helium PG, Pipelines, including individual electrical equipment operation) would be preferred.
