Position Overview
Principal Applications Specialist (Fabrication) within the UK Packaged Gases Technology & Marketing Team.
Responsible for delivering Merchant Fabrication business growth and retention targets, leading a regional team of 3-4 Application Specialists, and fostering collaboration with the Merchant Commercial team.
Responsibilities
- Deliver individual Merchant Fabrication business growth and retention targets.
- Lead a regional team of 3-4 Application Specialists to achieve new business and profit retention targets.
- Build effective commercial collaboration between the Application Specialists team and the Merchant Commercial team.
- Create and maintain a positive working environment within the Fabrication segment.
- Develop and implement a Regional Key Customer & Technology Contacts Plan.
- Coach and manage the regional Fabrication Applications Team.
- Win new Merchant Fabrication accounts.
- Build loyalty and maximize returns in existing Merchant Fabrication accounts.
- Conduct training courses for colleagues and channel partners.
- Assist with marketing and promotional events and attend exhibitions.
- Build and maintain relationships with key equipment manufacturers (OEMs).
Qualifications
- Proven team leadership experience.
- Highly proficient in craft welding skills, including MIG/MAG, TIG, and oxy/fuel welding and cutting.
- Approved welding craft apprenticeship with extensive experience in metal fabrication.
- Up-to-date knowledge of welding/fabrication technology.
- Self‑motivated and self‑managed with excellent discipline.
- Strong influencing, negotiating, and sales abilities.
- Good interpersonal skills and a collaborative team player.
- Proficient in Word, Excel, Power Point, and internal software.
