THE ROLE
This is a broad, hands-on role for someone who is as comfortable overseeing a month end as presenting to the board or leading an acquisition. You'll be responsible for the group's financial control and reporting, for modernising its finance processes and governance, and you'll work closely with the leadership team on strategy, growth and M&A.

- Lead budgeting, forecasting and long-term financial planning across the group.
- Build KPIs and management information that give a clear, timely view of performance.
- Produce the monthly board pack, with commentary and analysis that drives action.
- Financial control and reporting
- Oversee the monthly close, including journals, reconciliations and intercompany accounting, and step in hands-on when needed.
- Oversee VAT, invoicing, credit control and cash management.
- Manage the year-end audit, statutory accounts and tax compliance.
- Prepare lender reporting and monitor covenant compliance.
- Governance, systems and modernisation
- Strengthen financial controls, policies and governance across the group.
- Modernise finance systems and processes, with more automation and better use of data.
- Build and develop a finance team as the group grows.
- M&A and integration
- Working with the investor team, lead the identification, evaluation and execution of acquisitions as part of the buy-and-build strategy.
- Lead deal processes, managing external advisers on due diligence, legal and tax, and owning valuation, deal structuring and funding.
- Support post-acquisition integration, leading on bringing new businesses onto group financial reporting, controls and systems.
ABOUT YOU
- Senior finance professional with 10+ years' experience in industry finance and/or corporate finance, including leading teams.
- Background in financial control and FP&A, including month end, consolidation, and financial reporting.
- Strong M&A experience across buy-side and sell-side transactions, from due diligence and valuation through to completion.
- Strong financial modelling skills to support investment, funding and strategic decisions.
- Experience working with boards, funders and private equity, turning complex analysis into clear commercial insight.
- Confident with ERP and finance systems, and keen to modernise finance processes.
