This role will sit at the centre of how Tiro scales operationally over the next few years — building the systems, governance, controls and operational discipline that allow us to grow confidently, intelligently and compliantly. We’re looking for someone who combines deep expertise in compliance, audit and governance with a highly pragmatic, solutions-focused mindset. Someone who can build robust systems and still find workable ways forward in complex situations. Someone who knows when something is a hard stop — and when there’s a smarter, compliant route through. Someone who can help us scale without compromising standards.
The Opportunity
This is a senior operational leadership role with responsibility for compliance, governance, data integrity and operational assurance across the business. You’ll own how compliance and operational governance are designed, embedded and continuously improved across Tiro.

We’re looking for someone who enjoys creating structure from complexity. Someone who can look at a scaling organisation and see:

You’ll bring a strong understanding of operational governance, compliance assurance and scalable systems thinking. You’ll know how to build operational rhythms, reporting structures and quality controls that increase confidence, consistency and audit readiness without slowing teams down unnecessarily. You’ll understand how to create operational environments where compliance becomes embedded into everyday behaviours — not something teams think about only when an audit appears. And because we operate in a highly regulated environment, you’ll know how to balance precision with pragmatism.
You’ll understand that sometimes the answer genuinely is “no”. But you’ll also know how to navigate ambiguity, think creatively within regulatory boundaries, and find compliant, workable solutions where others might simply stop at the obstacle.
Just as importantly, you’ll be comfortable operating in a scaling environment. Not everything at Tiro is fully formed — and that’s part of what makes this exciting. We’re looking for someone who can bring structure without unnecessary bureaucracy, improve systems whilst maintaining momentum, and help teams operate with greater clarity and confidence as we continue to evolve. A huge part of this role is creating consistency in how operational excellence and compliance are understood across Tiro. You’ll work cross-functionally with Learning Experience, Learning Delivery, Employer Success, Operations, Technology and Leadership to ensure governance, compliance and operational discipline are embedded into how we work — not bolted on afterwards. These relationships are critical at Tiro. We care deeply about the quality of our learner experience, the integrity of our delivery, and the operational foundations behind the outcomes we create.
So this role needs someone who naturally thinks cross-functionally:
- Bringing the right people into conversations early
- Creating strong operational feedback loops
- Improving clarity and accountability
- Identifying risks before they become issues
- Stress-testing operational processes properly
- And helping teams balance pace with operational rigour

About You
You’re likely already operating in a senior compliance, audit, governance, operations or funding leadership role within a pacey, complex and/or highly regulated environment. You’ve probably:
- Led compliance or operational assurance functions
- Built scalable governance frameworks and operational controls
- Managed audit readiness and regulatory compliance
- Improved operational systems and processes
- Worked cross-functionally to strengthen operational performance
- Implemented reporting, controls and operational cadence
- Supported organisations through periods of growth and change
- And built operational environments where quality and accountability scale alongside the business
Most importantly, you’ll care about building something sustainable, high-quality and meaningful — not simply creating process for process’ sake.
