We are seeking an experienced Datacentre Operator to join our client's team in Cardiff on an initial 6-month contract. This role is central to ensuring our datacentre operations run efficiently and securely, supporting key business systems and infrastructure services.
As a Datacentre Operator, you will:
- Monitor and maintain systems within the datacentre
- Respond to alerts
- Coordinate with vendors to resolve issues quickly
- Manage batch processing, Control-M scheduling, and weekend releases
- Assist with physical datacentre activities such as patrols, temperature checks, and system availability testing
You should have proven experience in datacentre or IT operations, good knowledge of Linux or UNIX, and familiarity with Control-M or similar scheduling tools. A proactive attitude, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently within a 24/7 shift environment are essential.
