We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Lead to take ownership of High Performance Computer 4 (HPC4) within BEV/PHEV electrical architectures. This is a pivotal role in our client's R&D function, supporting the delivery of its first luxury BEV vehicle. You'll be the technical authority, guiding development, ensuring timely delivery and influencing strategic direction.
What's on offer:
- Contract: 12-month maternity cover (PAYE only, Inside IR35)
- Hybrid (60% onsite, flexible days)
- Hours: 37 hours/week
- Travel: UK travel required; occasional European travel (3-4 times/year)
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the delivery of HPC4 components, software and hardware to defined KPIs (time, cost, quality)
- Provide technical direction across cross-functional teams and manage outsourced work and suppliers
- Develop and maintain specialist knowledge, proposing process improvements and supporting team capability
- Influence strategic technical roadmaps and contribute to product planning and innovation
- Represent the company in technical meetings, ensuring effective communication across internal and external stakeholders
What You'll Bring:
- Degree qualified engineer, with proven experience in ECU delivery and electrical systems within the automotive industry
- Strong understanding of BEV/PHEV architectures and systems engineering
- ECU and electrical system delivery experience in an OEM environment
- Familiarity with cradle-to-grave product development processes
- Testing plans, vehicle and rig testing, and data set creation
- Ability to interpret specifications (German language skills a distinct advantage!) and understand coding tables in ECUs
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with a collaborative mindset
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and project management tools
- Driving Licence: Required (must be over 25)
