Tiro is recruiting for an experienced Senior IT Project Manager to join a prestigious luxury automotive manufacturer based in Crewe. This is an opportunity for a seasoned project professional who can immediately take ownership of complex, business-critical IT projects and deliver them through a structured governance framework. You'll be managing a portfolio of projects across multiple business value streams, engaging with stakeholders from Board level through to technical delivery teams.

We're looking for a confident and politically astute Project Manager who understands how to navigate large organisations, drive accountability, and build strong relationships across the business. This is a traditional project delivery environment. The organisation operates using PRINCE2 and Waterfall methodologies, so applicants must have extensive experience of structured project management and governance.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Leading multiple concurrent IT projects from initiation through to successful delivery.
  • Managing projects across software development, infrastructure, business systems and enterprise applications.
  • Building and maintaining project plans, budgets, schedules and resource requirements.
  • Applying robust governance, risk, issue and dependency management processes.
  • Facilitating steering committees, stage-gate reviews and executive reporting.
  • Engaging and influencing senior stakeholders, including Board-level executives.
  • Working closely with business, technical and third-party teams to ensure successful delivery.
  • Managing project spend and ensuring business benefits remain on track.
  • Driving project closure activities, lessons learned and operational handovers.

What We're Looking For:

Essential

  • Proven experience as a Senior IT Project Manager delivering complex IT projects within a manufacturing environment (strong preference for automotive).
  • Strong experience delivering projects using PRINCE2 and Waterfall methodologies.
  • Ability to confidently explain and manage a complete Waterfall project lifecycle, including governance and stage-gate controls.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills, with experience engaging at executive and Board level.
  • Strong commercial awareness and political astuteness.
  • Exceptional communication, organisation and decision-making skills.
  • PRINCE2 Practitioner certification.

Desirable:

  • Experience delivering SAP or ERP projects.
  • Experience managing software development, infrastructure and business transformation projects.
  • ITIL awareness.

The Person

We're looking for more than just technical project management capability. You'll be a strong communicator with personality, presence and credibility-someone who can bring people together, gain buy-in from stakeholders and keep delivery teams focused on the outcome. You'll be comfortable operating at every level of the organisation, from Board presentations and governance meetings through to working directly with technical specialists and project teams.

Location: Due to the onsite requirements of the role, applicants should be located within a reasonable commuting distance of Crewe (approximately 90 minutes maximum travel time) and be willing to attend site three days per week.
