Salary: £35,000–£45,000 per annum + car allowance + commission
Hours: 37.5 hours, Monday to Friday
Location: Solihull (hybrid) with travel to client meetings, networking events and industry exhibitions

This newly created role is designed to drive proactive growth, strengthen client relationships, and maximise venue revenue across conferences, exhibitions, meetings, hospitality and experiential events. The Role – A strategic and proactive business development position driving venue growth
Working closely with the Head of Events and wider events team, you’ll lead on driving new business, expanding market presence and building long‑term client partnerships. Alongside proactive outreach, you will support key account management, repeat booking strategies, and venue representation at industry events.
Key responsibilities
- Developing and delivering a proactive sales strategy to grow venue bookings and revenue
- Identifying and converting new business opportunities across exhibitions, conferences, meetings, hospitality and corporate events
- Building strong relationships with corporates, agencies, associations and regional business networks
- Managing key accounts and leading the rebook process to maximise repeat business
- Representing the venue at networking events, showcases, client meetings and industry exhibitions
- Preparing and presenting tailored proposals, pitches and commercial contracts
- Organising familiarisation trips and working closely with Facilities, Catering, Marketing, IT and Finance to ensure seamless event delivery
- Providing accurate sales forecasting, pipeline reporting and performance insights
- Monitoring competitor activity, client trends and market opportunities
- Supporting the development of the annual events calendar and major trade shows
- Producing accurate reporting on sales activity, conversion, ROI and commercial outcomes
About You
We’re looking for a commercially focused, relationship‑driven professional with a strong background in event or venue sales. You’ll be confident developing new business, nurturing key accounts and building strong industry networks.
Experience & Skills
- Proven track record in proactive sales or business development within events, venues or hospitality
- Strong networker with excellent relationship‑building and influencing skills
- Commercially astute with experience delivering against revenue targets
- Creative and client‑focused with the ability to design bespoke event solutions
- Excellent presentation, communication and negotiation skills
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects
- Confident attending networking events, exhibitions and client meetings
- IT literate, comfortable using CRM or event management systems
- Full driving licence essential
