We are recruiting for 2 roles:

  • 1 x Special Projects QS based in Midlands with significant time spent on sites actively running projects - with the base office in their regional office in Worcestershire
  • 1 x QS based in Midlands - with the base office in their regional office in Worcestershire

Our client, an established and respected organisation within the construction and civil engineering sector, is seeking experienced Quantity Surveyors to join their growing team. The Opportunity

This role requires a detail-oriented and proactive Quantity Surveyor, who can manage project budgets, track costs, and provide accurate valuations, while maintaining strong communication with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams. You will take ownership of project cost management, attend weekly site visits, and support the production team with forecasts and financial insights.

The Role

  • Preparing and managing budgets for groundworks projects and conducting cost estimations (including pricing of materials and labour)
  • Liaising with site and production teams and accurately recording progress via regular site visits, participating in on-site project meetings, and identifying cost-saving opportunities
  • Evaluating and selecting subcontractors based on experience and pricing, ensuring payments are managed in line with contract terms
  • Measuring work completed on site and preparing interim valuations
  • Assisting in the preparation of final accounts
  • Preparing financial reports and forecasts for projects, monitoring for potential financial risks
  • Liaising closely with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure issues or risks are addressed promptly
  • Ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and maintaining accurate records and documentation for all commercial aspects of projects

The Successful Applicant

  • Have previous surveying experience at a similar level within a comparable environment
  • Hold a full, valid UK driving licence
  • Be organised, proactive, and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously
