We are looking for a Quality Assurance Technician to join Tiptree Patisserie in Witham, part of the Wilkin & Sons group, supporting the production of high-quality artisan patisserie and bakery products.

Salary:
Up to £28,300 per annum dependant on experience
Working hours:
8:00am to 4:00pm, Monday to Friday
This practical role is central to maintaining product quality and food safety in an artisan patisserie and bakery environment. You will inspect and test ingredients and production processes, monitor compliance with specifications, investigate quality issues and maintain accurate records while working closely with colleagues across the site.
You will support production to achieve daily requirements to the correct specification, complete internal audits, monitor quality and safety deviations, assist with corrective actions and help drive Right First Time performance. You will also support HACCP, calibration, shelf-life analysis, microbiological and allergen testing, and the control of products placed on hold.
The role also includes maintaining supplier approval records, authoring and controlling product specifications, responding to customer technical queries, completing packaging data submissions and generating or reviewing nutritional information in line with ingredients and UK labelling requirements.
About you:
- Food Technologist Level 3 qualification or equivalent
- Knowledge of food safety, Health and Safety, HACCP and relevant food-industry legislation
- Understanding of quality systems, food-industry standards and internal and external audit processes
- Experience analysing data, identifying trends and maintaining accurate technical documentation
- Ability to investigate quality issues and customer complaints using root cause analysis and other problem-solving techniques
- Confident communication skills and the ability to build effective relationships with colleagues, customers and suppliers
- A proactive, organised approach with a strong commitment to safe working, continuous improvement and high standards
