Within the RNN Group, maths and English skills are in high demand. This role allows you to influence and contribute toward the college’s provision in this key area.

As a lecturer you will deliver GCSE English Language and Functional Skills English to full‑time students and adults, using both well‑equipped onsite classrooms and the virtual learning environment through Google Classroom. The role requires you to equip students with the skills for their future by providing outstanding education and training, and to inspire them to achieve their potential. Responsibilities

  • Develop creative resources to inspire outstanding learning and monitor and track learner progress to promote positive outcomes.
  • Work effectively as a team player, collaborating with colleagues and management to achieve strategic and organisational objectives.
  • Use practical, theoretical, and digital methods to bring the subject to life and engage learners.

Qualifications

  • At least an A level (or equivalent) qualification in English; a teaching qualification is required or the willingness to work toward one.
  • Ideally, a degree qualification in a chosen subject.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work with colleagues and management.

Department Information

Your line manager will be the Deputy Manager for English and Maths. You will regularly report on objectives, including student recruitment, retention, anticipated achievement, attendance, and punctuality KPIs to the Maths and English Lead. You will be part of the Curriculum and Department team, working with other teaching staff to develop and share good practice in the area. Participation in cross‑college teams or working groups on key projects may also be required.
