A GBP 39,774 to A GBP 54,743 + Benefits (including 8% pension, x4 life assurance and private medical). Our client, Yamazaki Mazak, is a leading global manufacturing company based in Worcester. This is an excellent opportunity to work for a market leading Machine Tool manufacturer with a strong industry presence.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the implementation and monitoring of HSE policies, procedures, and programs.
  • Conduct risk assessments, audits, and inspections to identify hazards and ensure compliance.
  • Investigate incidents and near misses, prepare reports, and recommend corrective actions.
  • Deliver HSE training and toolbox talks to staff and contractors.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation in line with legal and company requirements.
  • Liaise with regulatory bodies and ensure timely reporting.
  • Support the development of emergency response plans and conduct drills.
  • Champion a culture of safety and environmental responsibility across all levels of the organization.
  • Report analysis including trends.
  • Interrogate root cause of accidents, including creation of departmental systems and procedures to prevent recurrence.
  • Understand and maintain departmental systems, procedures and KPIs.
  • Ability and willingness to train others on on-the-job (OJT) training.
  • Demonstrate tangible Kaizen-based improvement projects for SQDCP.
  • Control 5S to a high standard.

Essential Qualifications

  • NEBOSH Diploma Degree or Higher National Diploma (HND) in a relevant field such as Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering or Risk Management.

Desirable Certifications

  • IOSH Membership
  • ISO 45001 Lead Auditor
  • Environmental Management Qualification
  • First Aid at Work and Fire Safety
  • Manual Handling Training
  • Formal training in COSHH, Work at Height, or advanced risk assessment techniques desirable.

Experience Requirements

  • Typically 5+ years in HSE roles, with at least 2 years in a senior or supervisory capacity.
  • Experience in conducting risk assessments, incident investigations, and delivering training.
  • Understanding of local and international HSE laws, regulations, and standards and compliance frameworks relevant to the industry.
  • Experience of working with certification bodies.
