This is an excellent opportunity to work for a market leading Machine Tool manufacturer with a strong industry presence.
Responsibilities
- Lead the implementation and monitoring of HSE policies, procedures, and programs.
- Conduct risk assessments, audits, and inspections to identify hazards and ensure compliance.
- Investigate incidents and near misses, prepare reports, and recommend corrective actions.
- Deliver HSE training and toolbox talks to staff and contractors.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation in line with legal and company requirements.
- Liaise with regulatory bodies and ensure timely reporting.
- Support the development of emergency response plans and conduct drills.
- Champion a culture of safety and environmental responsibility across all levels of the organization.
- Report analysis including trends.
- Interrogate root cause of accidents, including creation of departmental systems and procedures to prevent recurrence.
- Understand and maintain departmental systems, procedures and KPIs.
- Ability and willingness to train others on on-the-job (OJT) training.
- Demonstrate tangible Kaizen-based improvement projects for SQDCP.
- Control 5S to a high standard.
Essential Qualifications
- NEBOSH Diploma Degree or Higher National Diploma (HND) in a relevant field such as Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering or Risk Management.
Desirable Certifications
- IOSH Membership
- ISO 45001 Lead Auditor
- Environmental Management Qualification
- First Aid at Work and Fire Safety
- Manual Handling Training
- Formal training in COSHH, Work at Height, or advanced risk assessment techniques desirable.
Experience Requirements
- Typically 5+ years in HSE roles, with at least 2 years in a senior or supervisory capacity.
- Experience in conducting risk assessments, incident investigations, and delivering training.
- Understanding of local and international HSE laws, regulations, and standards and compliance frameworks relevant to the industry.
- Experience of working with certification bodies.
