About The Job
Our client, Yamazaki Mazak, is a leading global manufacturing company based in Worcester. This is an excellent opportunity to work for a market‑leading machine‑tool manufacturer.
Role
- Repair broken Mazak spindles to new standards, involving precision measuring and assembly tasks related to spindle build.
- Carry out quality checks during assembly using precision equipment (micrometers, test bars, dial test indicators, clamp force and axial force gauges).
- Balance spindle cartridges.
- Perform electrical checks of stators (new and re‑used/re‑paired) to ensure conformance to standard Mazak check sheets.
- Some electrical assembly work may be required, though the role is mainly mechanically focused.
The Person
Essential Criteria- Background in precision engineering.
- Good problem‑solving skills.
- Self‑motivated, with good communication and attention to detail.
- Organised, able to plan ahead and follow written procedures.
- Ability to work to tight tolerances using hand tools and measuring equipment.
- Apprentice training or equivalent.
- Understanding of mechanical component drawings and assemblies.
- Previous experience in spindle assembly.
- Experience in testing electrical motors and fault finding.
- Experience with vernier calipers, depth micrometers, force gauges and micrometers.
- Microsoft Office skills.
The Reward
