Are you a Personal Trainer who thrives on building rapport rather than just building muscle? We are currently recruiting on behalf of a local Alternative Provision school looking for a high‑energy, resilient fitness professional to change the game for their students. This isn’t your typical gym:floor role. You’ll be working with young people in Year 9 to Year 11 (ages 13‑16) who have disengaged from mainstream education and need a different approach to physical health and well‑being.
The Aim: Inspire and Re:engage
The school’s goal is simple: use fitness as a tool to boost confidence, discipline, and mental health. You won’t be following a rigid PE curriculum; instead, you’ll be:
- Delivering bespoke 1:1 sessions for students needing extra support.
- Leading small group circuits (maximum of 5 students) to foster teamwork.
- Mentoring pupils who may be skeptical of exercise, turning “I can’t” into “I’ll try.”
What You Need
- Passion: A genuine love for exercise and the ability to sell the benefits of a healthy lifestyle to teenagers.
- A Sense of Humour: This is a must. You’ll need a thick skin, a quick wit, and the ability to build trust through authentic connection.
- Commitment: This is a long‑term position; these students need consistency and a familiar face.
- Flexibility: The role is available on a part‑time basis, allowing you to balance this with your own PT clients or other commitments.
If you already hold an Enhanced DBS (Child and Adult Workforce) that is currently registered on the Update Service, your application will be prioritized for immediate interview and placement. Please be aware that for this role you cannot have any cautions or comments on your DBS.
