The Role

As Finance Manager, you will be responsible for delivering accurate and timely financial reporting, maintaining robust financial controls, and ensuring compliance with Solicitors Accounts Rules. You will oversee the preparation of monthly management accounts, analyse financial performance, investigate budget variances, and assist with forecasting and budgeting processes. The role also includes responsibility for quarterly VAT returns, supporting annual financial and SRA audits, improving financial systems and processes, and leading the finance team. You will work closely with senior stakeholders across the firm and play a key role in the ongoing development of the finance function.

The Candidate

The successful candidate will have a minimum of five years of relevant finance experience, ideally within a law firm or professional services environment. You will possess strong management accounting skills, experience of budgeting and forecasting, and an excellent understanding of Solicitors Accounts Rules. Experience of preparing VAT returns, supporting audits, and implementing process improvements is essential. Strong leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills are required, together with proficiency in Microsoft Office and finance systems.
