A global friction welding manufacturer is looking for an Electrical Design Engineer to join their team based around the Birmingham area. The ideal candidate will be a hard-working and adaptable Engineer with a strong design background. Operating at the Halesowen site, you will be responsible for the design and technical support of industrial control panels.

The key responsibilities of the Electrical Design Engineer role will be:
- Prepare and configure both standard and custom electrical wiring drawings, along with complete Bills of Materials (BOMs).
- Ensure all designs comply with relevant regulatory, design, and testing requirements.
- Produce design documentation including drawings, calculations, and technical specifications.
- Collaborate with suppliers to ensure delivered solutions meet required performance standards.
- Provide technical guidance and promote best practices in industrial control panel design.
- Maintain compliance with applicable design and testing standards throughout project lifecycles.
- Develop and support test rigs, simulation models, and prototype control systems.
- Generate safety approval and sign-off documentation.
- Perform calculations in line with applicable standards (e.g. BS EN 13849) and demonstrate a strong understanding of relevant electrical standards (e.g. IEC 60204).
The key requirements of the Electrical Design Engineer will be:
- Proficiency in electrical design software such as AutoCAD Mechanical/Electrical and EPLAN.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
- Solid understanding of industrial electrical systems and control panel design.
- Familiarity with relevant safety and compliance standards.
- HND or Degree qualified is preferred.
