The NVH Engineer : Wind Noise will be responsible for monitoring, assessing, and minimising variability in wind noise performance across current production vehicle lines. Acting as an in-plant representative, the NVH Engineer : Wind Noise will operate as the voice of the customer within the manufacturing environment, ensuring attribute performance remains within defined targets.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor wind noise attribute performance on production vehicles using objective measurement, subjective driving assessment, and static evaluation techniques.
  • Act as the in-plant representative for the wind noise attribute, identifying potential deviations from target performance.
  • Carry out initial root cause investigations where performance variability is identified.
  • Drive issues through to resolution by working closely with manufacturing, engineering, and quality teams.
  • Liaise with the core aeroacoustics team to understand future product launches and critical attribute characteristics.
  • Support ongoing quality actions on current production vehicles.
  • Overcheck build conformance against defined assembly processes.
  • Provide feedback from plant activities to support continuous improvement of wind noise performance.
  • Demonstrate flexibility to work across multiple sites as required in support of the NVH Engineer : Wind Noise function.

Requirements

  • Experience working within an automotive production plant quality role.
  • Strong background in engineering problem-solving methodologies such as Six Sigma, 8D, and Root Cause Analysis.
  • Full driving licence with the ability to carry out subjective vehicle assessments.
  • Experience with plant attributes such as wind noise, squeak and rattle, or water testing.
  • Background in NVH development, vehicle testing and assessment, or automotive component development.
  • Ability to communicate effectively across manufacturing and engineering teams in a NVH Engineer : Wind Noise capacity.

Please note, this role is deemed inside of IR35. The Umbrella Pay Rate offered is inclusive of the Assignment pay rate, holiday pay and Apex Recruitment's contribution towards Employer Costs.
