An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Durability and Robustness Programme Leader to work within the Durability and Robustness attribute, part of a wider Driven Attribute Integration organisation. The Durability and Robustness Programme Leader is responsible for ensuring customer expectations are met through effective target setting, design development, and delivery of whole vehicle durability and robustness verification activities.
Responsibilities
- Support delivery of all Durability and Robustness attribute requirement targets in line with programme gateways.
- Support the Programme Attribute Team to ensure all technical issues are identified, managed, and resolved.
- Develop and manage detailed strategy and delivery plans covering CAE, Road Load Data, system and vehicle rig testing, and driven vehicle durability activities.
- Work with system and component engineering teams to define, cascade, and maintain target requirements aligned to vehicle level objectives.
- Collaborate with component engineers and suppliers to drive resolution of durability and robustness engineering issues.
- Deliver clear technical recommendations, test results, and issue status reporting to stakeholders.
- Capture lessons learned from current vehicle programmes and ensure they are fed back to the Programme Attribute Team and progressed appropriately.
Requirements Of The Role
- Broad knowledge of vehicle technologies and automotive engineering systems, suitable for a Durability and Robustness Programme Leader.
- Strong understanding of durability, robustness, and strength engineering principles.
- Experience planning and managing complex engineering test activities.
- Proven problem solving capability using structured methodologies such as Root Cause Analysis, 8D, and DoE.
- Understanding of systems engineering principles and delivery.
- Project management experience within an engineering environment.
- Competent user of Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel.
- Knowledge or experience of Agile working principles.
- Working knowledge of CAD visualisation tools such as 3Dx or TeamCentre.
- Experience of whole vehicle engineering and cross-functional collaboration.
- Relevant engineering degree or equivalent practical experience.
