The Role
- This SEN Teaching Assistant position involves supporting pupils with a variety of special educational needs including ASD, ADHD, SEMH, and those with EHCPs.
- Providing tailored support for pupils with SEN from EYFS through to KS2.
- Implementing interventions and strategies designed by the class teacher and SENCO.
- Supporting children’s emotional regulation and social skills development.
- Assisting with the creation of differentiated learning materials.
- Monitoring and recording pupil progress.
What We’re Looking For
- Previous experience as a SEN Teaching Assistant or similar role in primary education.
- Understanding of different SEN needs including ASD, ADHD, and SEMH.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport with children.
- Enhanced DBS check on the update service (or willingness to obtain one).
- Desirable: Knowledge of Makaton, PECS, or sensory regulation techniques.
