My client is looking for an experienced Service Automation and BMS Engineer to join their growing Facilities Engineering team. You will be responsible for the engineering, commissioning, maintenance, and ongoing support of Building Management Systems (BMS) and automation systems, ensuring projects and service activities are delivered safely, efficiently, on time, and within budget.

Working closely with customers, subcontractors, operations teams, and internal stakeholders, you will provide high-quality technical solutions while supporting the continued performance and reliability of site systems.

The BMS Engineer role will involve:

  • Delivering the design, commissioning, servicing, and ongoing support of Building Management Systems (BMS) and automation solutions
  • Providing technical support for PLC, SCADA, and MES platforms, including related software and control applications
  • Creating, configuring, testing, and integrating control software and associated hardware systems
  • Managing and coordinating installation teams and specialist subcontractors throughout project delivery
  • Preparing and maintaining commissioning records, technical reports, risk assessments, and method statements
  • Ensuring all work is carried out in accordance with relevant safety standards, regulations, and industry best practice
  • Supporting customer site visits, technical proposals, quotations, and general engineering assistance
  • Collaborating with operational management to meet project milestones, performance targets, and customer requirements
  • Driving improvements in engineering efficiency, reliability, and delivery processes
  • Overseeing on-site activities and ensuring compliance with company quality, health, safety, and environmental procedures

The BMS Engineer will need to have the following attributes:

  • Previous experience working with Building Management Systems (BMS) and industrial automation systems
  • Strong knowledge of Trend and/or Schneider Electric BMS platforms
  • Experience working within industrial, manufacturing, or facilities environments
  • A proven track record of delivering automation or BMS projects from installation through to commissioning
  • Good understanding of PLCs, SCADA, MES systems, and control software
  • Ability to interpret electrical and engineering drawings and technical documentation
  • Knowledge of health and safety legislation, including risk assessments and RAMS
