Salary: Starting at GBP12.98, increasing to GBP15.00 M:F, GBP17.00 Sat/Sun, public holidays.

We are looking for enthusiastic and customer-friendly people looking to start their career as a driver to join Newbury and District, part of the award-winning Reading Buses family. There is great flexibility to tailor hours, ranging from fixed rostered hours or flexible hours through to part-time hours during school term-time.

Based out of our Greenham depot, Newbury and District is a name synonymous with public transport in West Berkshire since 1932. 91 years later we are proud to be providing the very highest levels of service with modern buses and a small team of friendly drivers.

As a Newbury and District bus driver, you will be delivering the highest standards of customer service, safety and comfort for your passengers.

About You

  • A valid, clean, car driving licence
  • Previous experience in bus or coach driving preferred but not necessary as training will be given
  • Have outstanding customer service skills
  • Possess a can-do attitude
  • Successful candidates may need to have a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check

  • An hourly rate of GBP12.98 during training and then upon passing GBP15.00 M:F, GBP17.00 Sat/Sun, public holidays.
