LinSocial Housing is currently seeking a Technical Scientific Officer : Public Health for a permanent opportunity with a well-established local authority in North West London. This is an excellent opportunity for a scientifically minded professional to join a busy Public Health and Public Protection team, supporting the delivery of vital services that help protect and improve the health and wellbeing of local communities. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting scientific, technical and regulatory functions, ensuring services are delivered in line with legislative requirements, industry standards and best practice.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the delivery of public health and scientific services
- Undertake technical, analytical and investigative work
- Assist with regulatory compliance and monitoring activities
- Analyse and interpret technical information and data
- Prepare reports and provide recommendations based on findings
- Support service improvement initiatives and best practice developmentWork collaboratively with internal departments and external stakeholders
- Contribute to maintaining high standards of public protection and community well-being
Requirements
- Background in Public Health, Environmental Health, Scientific Services or a related discipline
- Experience working within a local authority, public sector, laboratory, regulatory or compliance environment
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to interpret complex technical information and present findings clearly
- Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail
- Ability to manage workload effectively and work independently where required
- Eligible to work in the UK
