Your Role as an SEN Advocate

  • Emotional Regulation: Act as a calm consistent presence, recognising early signs of distress and using sensory breaks or de-escalation strategies to support the students' wellbeing.
  • Collaborative Care: Work closely with the Class Teacher, SENCO, and external therapists to ensure a holistic approach to the child's development and safety.

Essential Requirements

  • Are Exceptionally Patient: You understand that progress can be non-linear and you have the resilience to support students through challenging moments.
  • Have Relevant Experience: This could be from a school, care setting, personal experience with family, or volunteering with SEND charities.
