Responsibilities
- Lead professional in the room when the regular teacher is absent, ensuring learning standards remain high.
- Expert Lesson Facilitation: Deliver pre-planned work across various subjects, explain concepts, answer questions, and keep students on track.
- Advanced Behaviour Management: Establish authority and maintain a calm, respectful, and productive environment.
- Adaptive Teaching: Differentiate tasks on the fly to support students with SEND and stretch high-attainers, even in unfamiliar subject areas.
- Professional Handovers: Provide the school with high-quality feedback on student progress and classroom dynamics for seamless continuity.
Essential Requirements
- Hold QTS: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification (ECTs are welcome).
- Versatile and Confident: Able to cover any subject on the timetable and enter a new classroom with a positive, authoritative presence.
- Strong Communicator: Build rapport with teenagers quickly and manage diverse classroom personalities with ease.
- Committed: Hold an enhanced DBS on the update service (or be willing to obtain one) and be dedicated to Safeguarding.
Salary & Benefits
Weekly pay: Competitive daily rates of GBP140 - GBP233, paid every Friday via Randstad.
