Im currently looking for a Site Agent to support on my client, on the technical set up and delivery of major infrastructure in the Power sector. This is a freelance, site based role where you will be required to be on site 4:5 days a week in Friston, Suffolk. Youll provide technical construction of the civil engineering of a major substation whilst being supported by a team of Engineers.

You will deliver:

  • Concrete sub-structure
  • Steel support
  • Steel frame and cladding
  • Non-HV mechanical and electrical works

We are looking for candidates who can interview this week and start on circa 1 weeks notice.

Roles And Responsibilities

  • Support the Project Lead in completing complex work on time, within budget, and to high standards.
  • Enforce a zero-tolerance policy for unsafe work to ensure everyone stays safe on-site.
  • Create clear, short-term schedules to keep daily site activities on track.
  • Lead both internal staff and external contractors to ensure high-quality technical work.
  • Track budgets and staffing levels while providing clear reports on project progress.
  • Work with clients and designers early on to make sure plans are practical and buildable.
  • Turn design documents into clear to-do lists so the team can get accurate prices for materials and labor.
  • Use digital tools and off-site manufacturing to make construction smarter and safer.

Candidate Requirements

  • A solid background in delivering major Power or Civil Engineering projects.
  • Strong leadership in site safety and managing environmental risks.
  • A deep understanding of how to balance project costs, timing, and quality.
  • Practical experience managing contractors and overseeing construction quality.
  • Specific knowledge of Temporary Works and Design and Build contracts.
  • A degree in Civil Engineering or a completed higher-level apprenticeship with significant on-the-job experience.
