We are looking for an experienced Welder Fabricator to join a sheet metal fabrication business in Stevenage.
The role focuses mainly on TIG welding, with MIG welding duties as required.
Working hours: 8am‑4:30pm Monday to Friday (40 hours per week).
Overtime is available and paid at T1/2.
There is an option for an earlier finish on Friday if you work 43 hours basic in the week.
What You Will Do
- Perform TIG and MIG welding on a variety of components, predominantly stainless steel and aluminium.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, sketches, and technical information to prepare products accurately.
- Carry out dimensional inspection prior to welding to support right‑first‑time quality.
- Fabricate and assemble metal structures to required specifications.
- Dress and finish your own work to a consistently high standard.
- Follow safety guidelines, maintain a clean working environment, and complete quality checks on finished products.
- What You Will Bring
- Proven experience as a Welder Fabricator within sheet metal fabrication, including TIG and MIG techniques.
- Confidence reading and interpreting technical drawings and fabrication instructions.
- Experience welding stainless steel and aluminium, including working with thinner materials up to 6mm.
- Strong attention to detail, particularly around inspection, finishing, and producing high‑quality welds.
- Practical capability with hand tools and power tools, supported by a safety‑first mindset.
