PRESS BRAKE SETTER OPERATORS NEEDED IN STEVENAGE
Are you an experienced Press Brake Setter Operator who has worked on Trumpf machines, and are you looking for a permanent job within Stevenage?
We are looking for 2 experienced Press Brake Operators to join a leading sheet metal manufacturing business in Stevenage. Standard working hours are 8amβ4.30pm Monday to Friday (40 hours per week), with overtime opportunities available which are paid at T1/2. Annual salary will range between GBP 37,500 and 42,500 per annum (hourly rate of GBP 18.00β20.50 per hour) depending on experience (DOE).
Whilst the hiring manager would prefer someone who has worked on a Trumpf machine, they will consider people who have worked on other Press Brakes (Amada, Edward Pearson, etc.) providing you have the right level of experience.
What You Will Do
- Set up and operate press brake machines to bend, form, and shape sheet metal components, primarily using stainless steel and aluminium.
- Adjust ram and back gauge positions according to process control instructions, PDFs, and models.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings and job specifications to ensure high levels of accuracy.
- Inspect finished parts using precision tools such as micrometres, callipers, and gauges to verify dimensions.
- Perform basic maintenance and cleaning on the press brake machines to ensure optimal performance.
- Monitor production quality and make adjustments as needed to meet exacting standards.
- Collaborate with team members and management to achieve daily production goals and maintain workflow.
What You Will Bring
- Proven experience setting and operating an Amada or Trumpf press brake machine in a manufacturing or fabrication setting.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to troubleshoot and make machine adjustments.
- Confidence in using hand tools and press brake tooling safely and effectively.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, with a solid understanding of part tolerances.
- Skilled in using precision measuring instruments to ensure the quality of finished parts.
