Location: Stoke-on-Trent
Rate of Pay: GBP28 per hour + GBP3.38 accrued holiday pay
Contract: Part-time, with flexible hours
Start Date: September 2026 (for the 2026/2027 Academic Year)
Responsibilities
- Provide learning support and academic guidance.
- Create an individual learning plan tailored to the student’s needs and encourage them to become an independent learner.
- Assist students with the following:
- Develop independence
- Build on strengths and learning strategies
- Create strategies around organisation and time management
- Create action plans to stay on track with studies
- Build on research skills by widening knowledge through a variety of sources
- Distinguish appropriate sources and how to correctly use references
- Build comprehension skills within reading and writing
Requirements
- Qualified to undergraduate degree level (level 6 minimum)
- Have a teaching qualification
- Have taken extensive training in adult autism
The Extensive Training May Include
- 6 National Autistic Society Modules (non-medical helper package)
- OR The Optimum Training Course: Autism and ADHD in Higher Education — Recognising and addressing the barriers through Non-Medical Helper (NMH) Mentoring and Study Skills Strategies.
