Key Responsibilities and Duties
- Targeted Curriculum Delivery: Design and deliver high-quality, adaptive lessons across a broad curriculum, with a strong focus on KS3/KS4 Maths and Functional Skills.
- Individualised Learning Plans (ILPs): Utilise baseline assessments to set, track, and achieve ambitious academic and personal development targets for each student.
- Behavioural and Emotional Support: Employ evidence-based relational and restorative strategies to re-engage students who have faced barriers in mainstream education.
- Safeguarding and Reintegration: Maintain exemplary safeguarding standards while collaborating with families and multi-agency teams to support student transition pathways.
Qualifications And Skills Requirements
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), PGCE, or a recognised equivalent teaching qualification.
- Subject Knowledge: Demonstrated ability or strong aptitude to teach Maths at a KS3/KS4 or Functional Skills level.
- Core Competencies: Strong emotional intelligence, reflective practice, and the ability to direct classroom TAs effectively.
- Mobility: A valid, full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle (essential due to the nature of the provisions community-focused operations).
- Prior experience in a designated SEN or Alternative Provision setting is advantageous but not mandatory. A proactive, adaptable mindset is highly valued.
