Reeson Education is recruiting an experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant for an ASAP opportunity in Eastleigh. This Higher Level Teaching Assistant role is ideal for someone who is confident taking increased responsibility in the classroom, delivering planned learning and providing whole:class cover when required.

The successful Higher Level Teaching Assistant will work closely with teaching staff to support pupil progress while helping maintain continuity across the school day.

The Higher Level Teaching Assistant Role

Pay: GBP100:GBP120 per day

Location: Eastleigh

Responsibilities: Class cover, interventions and targeted learning support

As a Higher Level Teaching Assistant, you will combine classroom support with periods of increased responsibility. The Higher Level Teaching Assistant may lead planned activities, work with targeted groups and supervise whole classes where appropriate.

Responsibilities of a Higher Level Teaching Assistant

• Delivering lessons and activities that have been planned by teaching staff.
• Providing whole:class cover during teacher absence or PPA time.
• Leading targeted literacy, numeracy or other intervention groups.
• Maintaining positive behaviour and established classroom routines.
• Monitoring how pupils respond to learning activities.
• Providing useful feedback to teachers about pupil progress.
• Supporting the preparation of classroom resources.
• Working collaboratively with teachers and other support staff.

What Were Looking For

We are looking for a Higher Level Teaching Assistant with strong classroom experience and the confidence to lead learning when required.

The ideal Higher Level Teaching Assistant will have experience covering classes, delivering teacher:planned lessons or working with groups independently. An HLTA qualification is desirable, although candidates with substantial relevant experience may also be considered.

A successful Higher Level Teaching Assistant should be organised, adaptable and comfortable managing a class while following the direction and planning of qualified teaching staff.
