Overview
Are you an experienced multi skilled Field Service or Maintenance Engineer of industrial capital equipment / special purpose machinery? This role is with a well established UK office for high quality, German manufactured capital equipment into the pharmaceutical sector. The position is home-based with regular fieldwork across the UK and Ireland.
LOCATION: UK based. Ideally on the motorway network, but open for the right candidate. COMMUTABLE LOCATIONS: Birmingham, Manchester, Bristol, London, Luton, Milton Keynes, Northampton, Oxford, Cambridge, Peterborough, Leicester, Nottingham, Sheffield, Leeds, Liverpool.
WHY SHOULD YOU APPLY?: Working days Monday to Friday with evenings and weekends back; 80% scheduled work so you know where you’ll be and when; home-based role with remote support days.
Responsibilities
- Provide scheduled maintenance and calibration services (80%) to customers across the UK and Ireland.
- Occasional week-long projects for installation, commissioning and training of equipment into client sites, alongside a German engineer from the principal.
- Account management / technical customer support remotely.
- Most of your time is scheduled, so you’ll know where you’ll be and when you’ll be back.
Qualifications and Experience
- Multi skilled Service / Maintenance Engineer with experience of industrial capital equipment; pharmaceutical setting preferred.
- Some experience with PPMA machinery is advantageous; broad engineering background is important.
- Exposure to PLCs (Allen Bradley, Schneider, or Siemens) would be a bonus; most PLC work is plug and play.
- Good communication skills and flexibility to stay away 1–3 nights per week.
Technical Environment
- Experience with equipment in the pharmaceutical sector and related capital machinery, controls, packaging, process equipment, and automation concepts.
