Senior Force Nursing Advisor

Location:

Police Headquarters, Exeter, Police Headquarters, Winfrith, Dorset

Salary:

Other Band 7 - Agenda for Change Scale. The starting salary will be within Scale entry point A £47,172, with increments at 2 and 5 years to the top of scale A £53,980, plus a market supplement.

Role Overview:

We are seeking applications for the role of Senior Force Nursing Advisor with Dorset Police, based at either Police Headquarters in Exeter or Winfrith, Dorset. The successful candidate will be a senior member of the Occupational Health team, providing high-quality, evidence-based clinical advisory services to managers, staff, and officers. Responsibilities include advising on physical and psychological fitness for work, health and wellbeing guidance, and supporting internal and external clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Deputise for the Occupational Health Nurse Consultant and potentially the Lead Occupational Health Nurse Consultant.
  2. Demonstrate high standards of clinical care, providing leadership, mentorship, and supervision to the team.
  3. Support the delivery of the wellbeing strategy and contribute to strategic and operational objectives.
  4. Build relationships and work collaboratively within the police and with external partners.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Proven experience in occupational health, preferably with SCPHN qualification.
  • Strong relationship-building skills and a proactive approach.
  • Enthusiastic, committed, and driven with leadership qualities.
