I have an urgent requirement for a Senior Commercial Manager for one of my long-standing Tier One main contractor clients on a Defence framework in the Suffolk area. Projects will range from c.GBP25m to c.GBP250m and are on the NEC contract, so strong NEC contract knowledge is essential. Experience within the Defence sector is preferable, though not essential, as the client will also consider experience across other sectors such as Commercial, Residential, Healthcare, Education, Prisons etc.
Responsibilities
- The role is Lead Commercial across one or more framework projects, reporting into the Commercial Director and managing QSs on each project, from preconstruction / procurement all the way through the process including variations, valuations, cost reporting, payments and final accounts.
- The successful candidate will be able to deal both upstream with the client and downstream with subcontractors/supply chain, as well as with site teams.
- The role will primarily be site-based in and around the Suffolk area with some flexibility re hybrid working. Lodge and subsistence may also be paid as required.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Candidates must be eligible to live and work in the UK.
- Experience within the Defence sector is preferable.
- Strong NEC contract knowledge is required.
- Ability to manage QSs and lead commercial functions across multiple projects.
