The Role
As a Senior Accountant, you will manage your own portfolio of owner‑managed businesses and SME clients across a variety of sectors. You will act as a trusted adviser, supporting clients with their accounting, tax and business needs while ensuring excellent service delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing a portfolio of small business clients from start to finish
- Preparing and reviewing statutory accounts
- Preparing and reviewing corporation tax returns
- Managing VAT returns and management accounts preparation
- Advising clients on business growth, profitability and tax planning opportunities
- Building and maintaining strong client relationships
- Supporting and mentoring junior members of the team
- Liaising with HMRC and handling client queries
- Identifying opportunities to improve client services and add value
About You
We’re looking for someone who is confident, proactive and enjoys working closely with clients.
You Will Ideally Have
- ACA, ACCA or QBE qualification
- Previous experience working within an accountancy practice
- Strong knowledge of accounts preparation and taxation
- Experience managing a portfolio of clients
- Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills
- Good working knowledge of cloud accounting software including Xero, QuickBooks and Sage
- A commercial mindset with a client‑focused approach
