Responsibilities

  • Work with pupils on a one-to-one basis or in small groups
  • Support the teacher in delivering informative and engaging lessons
  • Support students with challenging behaviour
  • Prepare for lessons (e.g., preparing resources, putting out equipment)
  • Support pupils with additional care needs (e.g., feeding, toileting)
  • Support children in completing day-to-day tasks around the classroom and with their learning
  • Ensure that pupils are safeguarded and supported

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Eligibility to work in the UK
  • Enhanced child DBS on the update service or willingness to get one
  • Experience working with children or young people with additional care needs
  • Two recent professional references
  • Experience with challenging behaviours
  • A calm and caring personality
  • A strong and resilient personality and commitment to pupils' development
  • Reading, writing, numeracy and communication skills
  • Team Teach trained or willing to attend training
