Randstad Education is currently recruiting proactive Secondary Teaching Assistants to work in our partner Academies and High Schools across Sheffield. Working in Secondary education isn’t about nurture in the traditional sense, it’s about engagement, rapport, and boundaries. We need individuals who can act as positive role models for students aged 11-16, helping them navigate the pressures of exams and adolescence.

The Role

  • Academic Support: Working within specific departments (e.g., English, Maths, Science, or Humanities) to help students grasp complex curriculum content.
  • Behaviour Mentoring: Specific work with students who may be disengaged or disruptive, helping them stay in the classroom and focus.
  • Exam Prep: Assisting with revision sessions and acting as a scribe/reader during mock exams.
  • Inclusion: Ensuring students with SEN (Autism, ADHD, Dyslexia) can access the mainstream curriculum alongside their peers.

  • Vetting: A valid Enhanced DBS on the Updated Service (or the willingness for one).
