Key Roles and Responsibilities

  • Managing office procedures, handling the Headteacher's diary, and coordinating bi-weekly SLT meetings.
  • Preparing detailed reports and assisting with business compliance, including preparation for ISI inspections.
  • Assisting with admissions procedures, managing EHCP placements, and ensuring smooth transitions for learners moving to new schools.
  • Building strong relationships with Local Authorities, business partners, and responding to parent enquiries with direction.
  • Handling sensitive learner data with total discretion and ensuring all safeguarding policies are strictly followed.
  • Supporting the HR team with onsite records, including staff attendance, training, and inductions.
  • Actively promoting mental health and wellbeing for pupils and colleagues while upholding professional boundaries and learner dignity.

Requirements

  • Proven administrative experience, ideally within a school or an educational/SEND environment.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills for minute-taking, report writing, and action plan circulation.
  • Highly proficient in office software and data management systems.
  • A master of multitasking with the ability to manage competing priorities for a Business Manager and Headteacher.
  • A deep understanding of safeguarding principles and a commitment to the mental health and safety of young people.
  • Must be willing to undergo an Enhanced DBS check (or hold one on the Update Service).
