This role involves carrying out a variety of domestic and commercial roofing repairs for local authorities, education providers, commercial buildings, lecture theatres, and offices, including work on listed buildings. The work includes pitched and flat roofing using materials such as felt, slate, and tile. Support with guttering and working at heights, as well as groundworks experience, are also required. You will assist an experienced roofer as part of a team of two or more.
Key Responsibilities
- Inspect roof defects to determine repair solutions.
- Repair and maintain flat, tiled, and slated roofs.
- Undertake minor carpentry, lead, metal flashing, and brickwork related to roofing.
- Perform minor groundworks such as brickwork and paving.
- Provide excellent customer service and maintain client relationships.
- Ensure compliance with HSG33 Health and Safety standards in roof work.
- Support all trades in delivering safe maintenance and repairs.
- Respond to emergencies swiftly and efficiently.
- Keep clients updated on progress and plans.
- Work efficiently, minimizing non-productive time, and report difficulties to supervisors.
- Apply health and safety rules, using risk assessments, method statements, and PPE.
- Maintain tools, equipment, and accurate records of work performed.
- Seek assistance from supervisors when needed.
- Work out of hours if required and assist other contracts as directed.
- Keep company vehicle clean and report any defects.
- Participate in an on-call rota (out of hours).
