This position provides the chance to build a critical regulatory function, while contributing at a senior leadership level within the organisation. The role is supported by a competitive benefits package, including 28 days of annual leave plus 8 bank holidays (FTE), as well as an employer funded pension scheme.

The Role

You will lead the end to end management of professional conduct complaints, ensuring fair, efficient, and high quality processes from initial receipt through hearings, appeals, and publication of outcomes. As a member of the senior leadership team, you will contribute to organisational strategy and support the board on regulatory matters. The role involves working closely with internal teams, legal advisers, decision makers, and external regulators, driving continuous improvement and accreditation, leading relevant training, managing a senior team member, and overseeing policy development, governance, standards, and budgets. Some evening and occasional weekend meetings are required.

The Candidate

The organisation is looking for a fully qualified lawyer with a minimum of five years' PQE, with experience in statutory health regulation or a similar role. You will have experience in handling complex caseloads and hearings, working alongside vulnerable witnesses and professionals subject to investigation, and applying sound judgement supported by strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
