An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Traffic Controller / Banksman to join AMCOs Transport department in Redditch.
AMCO is a A GBP 60m:turnover, Redditch:based global logistics specialist operating across four sites and providing supply chain solutions worldwide by road, sea, air and rail. We work across a wide range of industries, including electronics, food and industrial, with specialist expertise in automotive parts logistics and close working relationships with luxury vehicle manufacturers.
The Role
As a Key member of the Transport Compliance and Legal Team, you will be responsible for supporting the Head of Compliance, in ensuring effective and accurate compliance and maintenance of the vehicles on a daily basis and ensuring fleet and driver compliance is up to date at all times.
Responsible For
Fleet and Vehicle Management
- Planning and booking of vehicle maintenance
- Support Vehicle maintenance and control, costs
- Support Maintenance records : tracking and upkeep
- Support with Supplier management and audits
- Support Temporary vehicle control (inc. Insurance notification)
- Trailer inspection and condition control
- Gatehouse checks and Cab cleanliness and vehicle condition control
- New damage and vehicle defect form control
Transport Administration and Driver Management
- VDU head download and record upkeep
- Support Driver infringement control
- Attendance of meetings
- Support Accident management where applicable
- Web fleet KPIs, Fuel tracker, Vehicle Mileage
- Accident investigations and Insurance
Training and Development
- Support digitalisation of transport admin
- Agency and Driver inductions and Training
- Driver Assessments and LST training.
Other Duties Include
- General assistance to the Transport office team
- Weekend and out of hours support where applicable
- Issuing ad hoc Agency Driver Declaration Forms
- Checking drivers licenses and CPC
- Driver briefing and debriefing : in accordance with the Briefing/Debriefing Compliance Record
- Cover for holidays when required Hours are 40 per week Monday to Friday 08.30am : 17.00pm. Weekends may be required at times plus any reasonable requirements associated with the position
Personal Competencies
- Managers CPC desirable but not essential
- HGV license
- Driver assessor qualified but not essential
- Must have a good level of English and Maths
- Must be computer literate including MS Office, email, spreadsheets and transport databases
- Self:managing with good attention to detail
- Methodical and thorough approach to work
- Highly organised with the ability to remain focused under pressure
- Ability to multi:task and juggle priorities to meet requirements
- Ability to adhere to processes
- Must have a Can Do Attitude and a desire to improve
- Flexible : a team player
