We are recruiting for a Recovery Coordinator at our Community Drug and Alcohol Services in Southend on Sea.

The community team here at The Forward Trust supports people who have issues with drugs and/or alcohol and want to make a positive change. We also support the family and friends of people who are worried about their loved ones\’ substance use, or have been affected by it.

Role Responsibilities

  • Working within an integrated healthcare framework to provide support to drug and alcohol users aged 18 and over (dependent on service).
  • Delivering Psychosocial Drug and Alcohol Interventions tailored to individual needs, using harm reduction and abstinence approaches.
  • Managing caseloads, providing harm reduction advice, assessments, care planning, and delivering structured 1:1 and group sessions.
  • Collaborating with services such as Housing, Employment, Healthcare, Probation, and CRCs.
  • Contributing to targets set by Forward and local commissioners, including outcome measurement.
  • Providing flexible services, including some evening/weekend shifts with reasonable notice.

  • Use of motivational interviewing techniques.
  • Strong IT skills.
  • Understanding of holistic and community care needs.
  • Knowledge of the issues facing substance misusers and the Recovery Agenda.
  • Knowledge of Safeguarding, community support services, and the criminal justice sector.
  • Experience working in community or prison settings.
  • Utilising clinical supervision and understanding NHS health and wellbeing outcomes.

Qualifications

  • Level 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care.
  • Any qualification in substance misuse.
