Secondary MFL Teacher Language Specialist Local Secondary Schools
Position: Full-time or Part-time, Flexible (Term Time Only)
Salary: GBP 140-GBP 233 per day (Weekly Pay dependent on experience)
Start Date: Immediate / Next Term
Responsibilities
- Linguistic Versatility: Lead lessons across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, covering vocabulary and grammar, including GCSE-related content (film and literature studies).
- Professional Freedom: Experience different school language departments and pedagogical styles, building a diverse professional network.
- Work-Life Balance: Deliver high-impact, interactive lessons during the day; planning and parent consultations handled by permanent staff.
- Weekly Pay: Competitive daily rates of GBP 140-GBP 233, paid every Friday via Randstad.
Role as an MFL Lead
- Expert Lesson Delivery: Facilitate engaging lessons that balance the four key skills: Speaking, Listening, Reading, and Writing using authentic resources to bring the language to life.
- GCSE Focus: Targeted preparation for examination cohorts, focusing on translation skills, verb tense mastery, and spontaneous speaking confidence.
- Classroom Authority: Maintain a vibrant and supportive environment where students feel safe to take risks with their pronunciation and engage in role-play.
- Adaptive Support: Differentiate resources to support students with SEND or dual-language learners, ensuring the curriculum is accessible and challenging.
Essential Requirements
- Hold QTS: Qualified Teacher Status or an equivalent recognized qualification (ECTs are encouraged).
- Are an MFL Specialist: Fluent in at least one major European language (Spanish, French, or German) and have a solid grasp of KS3/KS4 National Curriculum.
- Are an Engaging Communicator: Build rapport with teenagers quickly and use your passion for languages to spark their curiosity about different cultures.
- Are Committed: Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willing) and dedicated to safeguarding.
