An established, specialist UK tier 2 construction contractor based in London is searching for a Quantity Surveyor to join their Commercial team. They are heavily recognised for delivering high-spec commercial interiors, architectural facades, and critical rail/station infrastructure. Unlike general fit-out firms, they are a deeply technical contractor specialising in structural dry lining, fire protection, and external envelope engineering. The selected candidate will ideally have Interiors/Fit-out experience with either a Main or Sub-Contractor. They have offices in Acton and Dartford which the candidate can choose where to be based out of. Hybrid working is available as well.

Core Responsibilities

  • Commercial Management: Administering subcontract packages, procuring materials, and monitoring project budgets to ensure delivery is on time and within financial constraints.
  • Contract Administration: Managing compensation events, cost reporting, and change controls, heavily relying on the NEC Contract (NEC Experience is not essential).
  • Site Valuations: Conducting site walks, reviewing project progress, preparing interim valuations, and applying for client payments.

Skills And Requirements

  • Qualifications: A relevant degree in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, or equivalent on-the-job experience.
  • Background: Typically requires 3+ years of experience working for a main contractor or Interiors contractor.
